ABOUT
What is a Little Free Library?
It’s a “take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. In its most basic form, a Little Free Library is a box full of books where anyone may stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share. You can, too!

The Little Free Library movement started in 2009 in Madison, Wisconsin. The movement came to Fort Dodge in 2013 through the efforts of local book enthusiasts. The dream was to get even just one Little Free Library for the community, but only one year later Fort Dodge has eight Little Free Libraries and counting!
Donated books are offered for readers to borrow. Books can be returned at the same, or any of the Little Free Libraries! If you have books to give, you can drop them in any library that has room, or see our "Where to Donate" tab for more information!
A steward oversees each library to keep it stocked. If you're interested in becoming a steward to a new library, email us at FortDodgeLFL@gmail.com!
